As a family-owned business with over 30 years of experience, we’ve been around the block (and probably back again!) when it comes to event planning. From corporate team gatherings to large-scale productions, we’ve had the pleasure of bringing hundreds of incredible events to life.
Here’s the thing we’ve learned over the years: we know every event is unique, andt that’s why we don’t believe in cookie-cutter, off-the-shelf solutions. Instead, we take the time to understand your vision, your goals, and yes, even your budget. The result? A perfectly planned and executed event.

Our Story.
Ever wondered about the story behind The Events Group? Well, let us tell you!
The story of The Events Group started with a spark of inspiration back in the groovy ’90s. Businesses overseas were bringing their teams together through awesome team events.
Originally called ‘MotivAction’, the company started by specialising in unique “Conferences under Canvas” and team building activities designed with the great outdoors in mind.
Fast forward to 2003, Heather took the reins, and Meredith joined the team a little over a year later. In those days, the focus was really on bringing people together through staff events, fun parties, and memorable corporate family days.
To better reflect the wide range of services we offered, we proudly rebranded to The Events Group in 2012. Always looking ahead, 2013 saw us become early adopters of tech-based team building in New Zealand, launching our ever-popular event, The Amazing GPS Race and a suite of app-powered activities. This innovation allowed us to seamlessly transition to virtual team products during the Covid-19 pandemic, connecting teams no matter where they were.
Most recently, in 2023, we moved into our awesome new premises in Albany. This means we now have all our warehousing, production and a fantastic client showroom together under one roof.
So, that’s a little peek into our journey. From outdoor adventures to cutting-edge tech-based experiences and everything in between, we’re passionate about creating unforgettable events.
