Self-Managed FAQ’s:

If you’re contemplating booking one of our self-managed activities but have some questions – we’ve put together some of the most frequently asked questions we get asked!

What's the main difference between fully managed and self-managed events?

Our fully managed events use our iPads and come with our experienced event managers on-site to run everything for you. Our self-managed activities offer the same fun event themes, but you’ll play them on your own smartphones or tablets. This means you won’t have our team physically present, making them a more budget-friendly option!

Why should I choose a self-managed event?

Self-managed events are perfect if you’re looking for a more affordable way to enjoy our exciting event themes. They’re a fantastic choice when you need to keep costs down but still want a high-quality, interactive experience for your group.

Do I need to provide my own devices for self-managed events?

Yes, for self-managed activities, participants will use their own smartphones or tablets to play the games. Only one device per team is required however.

Will I be left to figure out the event all by myself?

Absolutely not! While our event team won’t be there in person, one of our project managers will send you all the information you need to get set up on the day. Plus, remote support is available if required for your event to answer any questions, help with technical issues, or just provide support if you get stuck. We’ve got your back!

How do I book a self-managed event?

Once you’ve chosen an event theme and a venue/location, simply let us know, and our project managers will guide you through the rest of the booking process and provide all the necessary setup details.

What is the ideal number in a team?

We recommend teams of up to 5 people for the best experience, as you’ll be playing on one device per team. This way, everyone gets a fair chance to participate! There’s no minimum number of players, so feel free to form smaller teams if you prefer.

How long do your self-managed activities last?

Our self-managed events typically take about 2 to 2.5 hours to complete depending on the type of game you choose.
If you’re working with a tight schedule, like incorporating the activity into a conference or using it as a quick icebreaker, just let us know! Our creative team can condense all the fun into a shorter timeframe to fit your needs.

What do we need to play?

To get started with our self-managed team activities, each team will need a smartphone (either iOS or Android). Make sure your device has a working camera, location services enabled, and mobile data so you can connect and play!

If you’re joining our virtual activities, each player will need a smartphone, a laptop with video conferencing software, such as Zoom.

For our outdoor team activities, we recommend wearing comfortable footwear (ideally closed toe shoes) so you can move around easily and enjoy the experience!

Still have questions? We’d love to help you plan your self-managed event.
